Why Choose Crack Sealing and Routing?

Crack Sealing: Cracks in asphalt are not unusual. Unfortunately, neither is the eventual deterioration of the surface if those cracks are left unattended. Unsealed cracks allow water to enter and deteriorate the sub grade which results in alligatoring, potholes, and the general demise of the pavement. The crack sealer we use is a hot-applied, polymer-based material, the same material you will see on public roads and highways. By sealing cracks you are extending the life of your pavement substantially.

Crack Routing:  Although hot rubberized crack sealing is designed to prevent premature pavement failure, not all hot rubberized crack sealing procedures are created equal. For commercial and residential properties who are looking to extend the life of their asphalt surfaces substantially we recommend Crack Routing. Crack Routing is the process of using a specially designed machine which cuts open the crack to widen the application of crack filler. Often cracks are routed to ½”x ½”width/depth allowing a clean even surface, for the material to adhere to. The sealer will bond to the asphalt properly, and over the Canadian seasons when the cracks are expanding and contracting the reservoir covers the amount of shifting, leaving the rubber where it belongs. Crack Routing is an excellent solution for those looking to prevent premature pavement failure. Pavement Pros are the only company within the Quinte region who offer crack routing.

Hot Air Lance: A Hot Air Lance (HAL) is a specialized tool only used by professional asphalt crack sealing companies. A HAL uses compressed air and fire to provide a cleaning and preparation tool which burns at two thousand degrees Fahrenheit. By utilizing compressed air and heat the crack is cleaned properly while heated to a temperature which allows for maximum bondage of crack sealants.
